ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) — The governor of the Lone Star State will be in the Show-Me State to extoll the virtues of the Texas way of doing business.
Governor Rick Perry is expected to speak in Chesterfield with a message that is at odds with the will of Missouri Governor Jay Nixon. Some of the newest commercials on Missouri airwaves are at odds, too.
A 30-second spot has been running on Missouri airwaves, explaining why Texas is a great place for commerce. He and several Texas business owners talk about financial success due to lower state taxes.
Several radio and television stations, including KTVI-TV FOX 2 station have aired the spot. Only KTRS Radio has refused to run air the ad.
Tonight, the group “Missouri Club For Growth” is hosting a reception where Perry is expected to speak on his state’s formula for success. Business owners are less likely to pack up and move back to Texas with Perry. But, supporters of the proposed business income tax cut are more like to push for a reincarnation of the bill after Missouri Governor Nixon vetoed the legislation.
The reception starts here at the Doubletree Hotel on Swingley Ridge Road at 5 p.m.
