(KTVI) — The Veiled Prophet Parade steps off at 9:30 Thursday morning. But Friday afternoon, everyone will be looking to the sky for the Fair St. Louis Airshow.
Aviation lovers get to see the Aeroshell Acrobatic Team fly the AT-6. That aircraft was used to train WWII pilots.
Also, Chuck “Malibu” Aaron will fly the Red Bull Helicopter. He is one of only 3 pilots licensed by the FAA to perform helicopter aerobatics. He will take command of the Messerschmitt Bo 105. This chopper has a fuel-injected jet engine.
The Commemorative Air Force will take the Red Tail Squadron to the air with the WWII – era P51-C.
The weekend is all about flight, even on the ground. Air Force Lt. Col. George Hardy served with the all African-American 332nd Fighter Group. He will appear with retired Air Force Major George Boyd as honorary grand marshals for the 136th Annual Veiled Prophet Parade.
